There is a big thread about it on kindeboards but the mods wont let anyone mention any names. Does anyone here know?

JA Cipriano was the one for a few weeks ago. The newest UF slash Fantasy one is Michael-Scott Earle.

This is the one that shocked me. I'd just been researching some SF stuff at Amazon, and his books were almost all up in the top 100 of the category I was looking at. Not that they seemed to fit that category, but still. It makes me happy that he's gone, if he's one of the scammy scammers, which from what I gather, he is.

Michael-Scott Earle - I found out via the subReddit r/litrpg.
The fans don't seem too happy about it, but according to some authors his formatting was deliberately skirting the rules. I never read his stuff so I can't say either way.

Did MSE use shady tactics? What about JA?
Honestly, I'd be relieved if they did, because that means honest authors still have a chance. Otherwise, this is terrifying.

Someone at KBoards mentioned in passing that it looked like ChanceCarter/AbbyWeeks/CassandraZara was back with a new pen name. I was just wondering if anybody knew anything about this? Always good to know what name the current name so you don't accidentally work with him.

From what I've read, the person who had been linked as being Carter was in fact not him. This was a while back, but I haven't heard anything about him being back, nor anyone else (outside of Rebecca Hamilton, who has found someone to "publish" her books).

Oh God, there's a hearsay rule on KBoards? We literally can't share communications from someone else if I'm reading that right. /facepalm

The bio sure sounds like something he'd write. "Hey beautiful..."

You can share public communications (such as a cold email) and you can share your personal, direct observations, just not "somebody said" if it's in any way defamatory about someone else.

It could be him, first book went up in January 2018. Maybe this was another pen name Amazon didn't catch? I don't know him or his methods well enough to say, but if someone has enough knowledge, they should report the guy to Amazon. Terminated account means no more publishing on Amazon at all (though Rebecca Hamilton didn't let that stop her).
Just saw this in a review on the first book:
The book doesn't look stuffed, it's under 300 pages, so either there's shenanigans, or they're short books. Like, short story/novella short.

There's something about the "press" that published these books that is off, but I can't remember what it is or where I saw it. It seems they only have three authors. www.yourbookboyfriend.com/Now I'm going to go crazy trying to remember what it was about this place that made me go "hmmmm". Damn it.

Well this part here, especially the wording of required reminded me of Rebecca Hamilton and her groups. I have no idea if these newsletter services/groups use the same blackhat tactics or not. But it does give me the same vibe as I got from reading those RH FB screenshots. Want to grow your contemporary romance newsletter? We offer two services:

What is a red flag is when they require the author to share their newsletter mailing list with someone else, which is what BookClicker did (does?). In other words, it's ok to require you to tell your readers about the big promo, but not ok to require you to give up their emails or give out the newsletter api so someone else can take control of your subscriber list. Giving someone else your subscriber emails is against the law.

Check it out! {link/banner/whatever}) But, it's not giving the email addresses out, or giving someone access to your newsletter account. That is just wrong and illegal. Some of this sort of thing may be part of what Amazon is getting people for, if they find out they're using Amazon to break the law. The Feds don't take this sort of thing lightly.

I'm pretty sure I knew who Zara was at one time, but it was about the time my diabetes (undiagnosed at the time) was making my brain into mush. Carter had some pen names, but not that one.
It was noted at kboards that all of the people booted -- or the majority? I forget -- were in Rebecca Hamilton's box sets. We know those were run with, shall we say, less-than-honest methods, and she's had her hand into who knows how many other shady things.
Ooooh! Should probably have a disclaimer that this is my personal opinion based on information I've read all over the Internet, and thanks be to the universe for the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Free speech rules, yo.

The censorship on kboards is strong right now! Posts appearing and disappearing, edits getting inserted, people trying to hint without saying... lol. The mods are trying so hard to stop people implying Rebecca Hamilton's past boxsets (like Dark Humanity, Magic and Mayhem) have any connection to Michael-Scott Earle and JA Cipriano getting banned from Amazon. Also trying to stop anyone figuring out the links between Hamilton, Corwin and others. This link on reddit was illuminating old.reddit.com/r/litrpg/comments/8zy3oq/heres_what_i_was_able_to_get_from_the_guy_who/

The Reddit link is a good one. It might be helpful to spread that around to folks who aren't in the know and are asking. I mentioned at kboards that people could come here and post what they know, especially that one who had done some sort of chart that linked these people all together. I'd be interested in looking at that.
