I hope you’ve been creative through all this. Here’s what I’ve been doing:
In February I finished 5 short stories. In March I finished a novel (77k words). In April I finished another novel (79k words). Yesterday I finished a shorter novel, that came in at under 64k words.
The longer of the three was a bit of an effort because it was largely serious in tone. The one I just finished was easier to get through, I think because of its light and snarky tone. So for the few projects I’m going to write lighter projects.
Again, I hope you’re all doing okay.

I've been doing a lot of thinking, aka stewing. I've mainly been working on the publishing side of things. Also, I have been celebrating. Since I went back wide, I sold 19 ebooks through Overdrive this month. 18 of them were in one day. I just about fell off my chair. This never, ever happens to me. Other than that, my main sales have been through Google Play. On Amazon, in the past 2 months, I've made $0.35, and that was last week. That's okay. Just glad that I'm wide again.

I have been working hard on TUOK. I was doing really well for a while, focusing on it every day. I ended up creating a new universe and filling it with all these fun new aliens. I went through the hundreds of thousands of word docs and organized everything. I created a twelve-era timeline. Then I didn't know what to do next, so I started writing a story. I got it to 40,000 words before it just wasn't making sense anymore. Plus, it didn't work with my timeline. And I've just really struggled since then, making new messes, and just not being able to connect back with anything. Fantastic job, robertlcollins and @kateelizabeth for being consistent and finishing your stories and making lots of sales.

I guess I haven’t updated in two months. Oops. Here goes...
So, in June I finished a short novel that came in at 43k words. I then started on another project, but gave it up after a few chapters. It felt like stories I’d written before, and the tone was off. I gave it up and started on new projects with a new character, Jilla the Rogue.
As of today I’ve two novellas (20k & 23,500 words) and four short stories (8500, 8700, 5700, and 8000 words). I like the character and I’m having fun telling her stories. I have a new piece to start on tomorrow, several plotted out, and several ideas for plots. And I’m still publishing every month.
Hope all of you are well and writing!

Hey Robert!
I just came back, today, too. Congrats on all the new words!! I'm glad you were gone because you were busy writing. That's the best excuse. (nods head) Jilla the rogue is a fun character name.
I published one nonfiction short. And worked on TUOK a bit. But mostly I just ran around in my hamster wheel.

I have made a series outline for 4 books, that I feel pretty good about. It seems to tell a full story. I want to get the beats for all 4 books worked out for pacings sake, before I start writing. I don't want to get stuck again, or lost because I don't know where the story is going next. No more having to force your entire cast to forget a basic plot point because the author forgot it. This time we're going in like we're supposed to be there, and like we know what we're doing - because we do!

I had a productive August. I wrote 10 short stories (6500; 5300; 6300; 7000; 8000; 7750; 7700; 7800; 4400; and 3400 words). I’m still writing Jilla stories. I continue to like writing her and her adventures. I have enough ideas to keep going this month, but I’m going to try to plot out a few more.
I hope all of you are doing well!

Fantastic job robertlcollins!!! I love your work ethic and productivity. I keep aspiring to be that way. Maybe once I've finished recuva'ing my flashdrives, I'll be able to set something up. Only 2 left.

I am working through anxiety attacks to get back to TUOK. I've had a whole bunch of inspiration dots today, so that's a step in the right direction. It's funny to think that TUOK started with one make-believe state, when I was around 10 because I was fascinated with moving and wanted to create stories about what it would be like to move to a new state, became concentrated on one small town, and then grew to a make-believe country, before growing to a world, and then a universe where everyone was white, and had very sexist ideas. To now where it's a multiverse, and I have starfish people.

I had a good September. I wrote 9 short stories (4500; 7900; 8200; 6750; 8500; 5800; 8700; 11,300; 5250). All have been Jilla stories. I’ve finished one more once October started. I have another Jilla short to write, and a longer Jilla story after that. I hope all of are being productive in some way or another.

ON MY BREAK! Yep! I just finished a book and put it on preorder the other day. I am now on a LONG break until January. I will not be writing anything new until then. I will still do some edits here and there and probably some outlines but in terms of actually writing a project, nope. I need the rest and I've earned it. I've been working nonstop on projects. It's important to rest and give yourself a break. I also want to enjoy the holidays and just relax. So again, while I will be doing a little work here and there, no major writing for me until at least January.
Good luck with all the projects but don't forget to give yourselves breaks. You need it to stay creative and healthy!

Thanks writeway for the update. Great job on finishing a new book. I hope you enjoy your much deserved break! I've been busy panicking, worrying about money, and having a crises over whether I'm a good writer or an incompetent. Fun times. I was panicking about money until my dad told me to stop worrying so much. I have anxiety disorder so I worry more than most but I am taking his advice. He always says, "No need in worrying about stuff and making yourself sick." He's right. To be fair, I have no business worrying or complaining because so many people are suffering. I'm in a good place. Got a home, food, and I am thankful for that. I was worried about how the book money has been going but I got out of that funk and decided to switch things up. Every time I started worrying about me, I remembered about the folks really struggling who would kill to be in my shoes. So I am appreciative for everything I got so I try to remember that when I get down. Plus, I'm healthy so that's a plus too. I know it's hard but don't worry to the point of stressing out and always remember that no matter what you're going through, there are people going through even worse. That thought is what keeps me grounded. Things can always be worse so we should be glad it's not. As for my break, LOVING it. Been binge watching Masterchef Australia and 90 Day Fiancé like a couch potato. LOL!

Sound advice writeway. Thanks. And huggggles about the anxiety. I, too, have an anxiety disorder. I'm glad you're enjoying your break and watching shows you like!!! I made a journal. Took me 3 tries to get it submitted. Am hoping it makes it through review. And am continuing to work on TUOK.

I'm still trying to do LCB stuff. My confidence is waning, today, and I'm feeling quite lonely and scared. I did find a course that showed me how to use powerpoint to help me pass KDP review though, so that's really good. I was able to get my toddler counting book published, an ebook and a paperback. The cover is quite atrocious, unfortunately. No reads or sales. I have 1 sketchbook, 2 journals for pet lovers, and a notebook in the que waiting to be published. Since it's q4, stuff like that isn't usually allowed through. Creative Fabrica had a $1 for a full, unlimited subscription for 1 month trial offer for Black Friday, so I snatched that up. I plan to dl as much as I can this month, and then cancel cos I can't afford the $29 monthly. If I could I'd keep it cos it's pretty cool. Am hoping at the very least it will help me make better covers.

I haven’t posted here in a while, so...
In October I wrote 2 short stories (oddly, both came in at about 7100 words) and a 45k-word short novel. In November I finished a novel that came in at around 62k words. Both months were just below average for me in terms of output, but when I was writing the words were flowing.
Just started on my next project yesterday. Hopefully I’ll remember to post how it’s going a month from now. 😁

This is my first time posting this month, so hey everyone. Wow, I really wasted an entire month on LCB. Yikes. Oh welly welly. At least I spent all my money so I don't have to worry about that anymore. And I am back to TUOK where I belong, with a few new friends.

Darn. Haven’t posted in quite some time. One day I will get better at this...
So, in December I finished a short novel that came in at a little over 54k words. Then, in the middle of last month, I finished a novel that came in at over 78k words. Yesterday morning I completed another short novel of just under 40k words.
I spent much of yesterday plotting out a project, and I plan to plot out at least one other today. I should be onto my next work Monday.
Hope all of you are writing and having fun.

No wonder you don't have time to post very often. Those are very good reasons to be away. Great job! I'm going to assume that the others are also being productivity champions. I've been busy doing things. I read "Eats, Shoots and Leaves" by Lynne Truss, the other day, and have been taking quizzes and practicing fixing grammar and punctuation mistakes. And I published another word search book, but no one is interested in it. I'd love to work on TUOK, but I need to focus on making money, first, and then once that is all taken care of, I can schedule in TUOK time. Or I could try scheduling it in now during "TTMMT". I'm not very good at scheduling things. But maybe "future me" is great at it! You never know.

I have my first TUOK series worked out to where I think it will be four books. I have the first book outlined by scenes and divided up into episodes, because it was easier to plot them that way. And then I started the season 2 plot plan, but I ran into a world building plot hole, and that led to me starting to write book one. So I'm around 4,800 words into episode 1 now.

Getting better at this...
A few weeks ago I finished a short novel that came in at about 44,500 words. Yesterday morning I finished another. It came in at about 51,600 words. I spent the rest of my writing time yesterday uploading my releases for next month. My plan is to start a new project Monday.
I hope all of you are writing and having fun with your works.

Two books at once. NOICE!!!!! I think you are simply splendid. I've been playing with TUOK again. I have 4 books loosely planned out for the first series. And I started book one, but I keep getting stuck, and I knocked my inspiration cup over and spilled it all out. I'll come back, but it's annoying. I hate how often I get stuck, but it's just part of my brain disability.

This afternoon I finished another project. It came in at just under 40,000 words, so it ended as a short novel. I plan to create some book trailers for upcoming releases tomorrow, then start on a new project Wednesday.
Hope all of you are writing. 👍

I'm doing well. I'm am currently doing edits on a book I plan to release in May. After that, might take a little break from writing and take the time to plan out another story while resting. I find taking breaks between projects works wonders.

Wednesday morning I finished another short novel. It came in at just over 48,000 words. I thought it was going to be longer at the start, but it shortened as the plot picked up speed. Yesterday I started in on another project, and that seems to be moving along. I hope all of you are doing well with your writing!

So, a little while ago I finished another novel. It came in at 63,500 words, which is the longest book I've written in a while. It felt a bit slow at times, thought the numbers show that it came out just fine. I am going to take a few days off before starting my next project, just in case that slowness was due to pushing too hard. And I forgot to post that back on May 31 I finished a 45,000-word short novel. I swear one day I'll get better at posting exactly when I finish stuff.
