prolificwriter you're speaking to the queen of laziness, here. Believe me, it is not possible for anyone to be lazier than I.

4,450 today. And it was all dictated!
Sadly, Nuance has recently discontinued Dragon for Mac, which I just happen to be using. I might have to get a cheap Windows computer/laptop just for Dragon in the near future. But now that I have a Mac, I have nothing but hatred for PCs!

Maybe you could try and find a Mac-compatible alternative before giving in and going back to PCs. alternativeto.net/software/nuance-dragon-naturallyspeaking/?platform=mac

Thanks! I’ll look into those. The thing I like about Dragon is the transcription option. I’ve found that I can’t really focus when I’m at the computer. I love dictating away from the computer, using my digital voice recorder. I’ve heard of using Parallels to run Windows on a Mac, but I think there’s a monthly subscription involved, and I definitely don’t want that.

Good job, Cora. I love 11’s. So any number with 11 in it is a good one.

Great job, corabuhlert! I feel like I should lie and say I wrote 2,000 words today, so that you don't feel all alone. Maybe if I pretend to be a productive writer for long enough something will rub off on me. That's super terrific you're almost at the end. Do you struggle with endings or are they your favorite part?

It depends. This ending isn't so easy, because it ends with a character going back to a bad job and into a bad situation, because he doesn't know what else to do with his life. I just finished a scene where he gets dressed down by his superior and which also ties up a couple of loose ends, so I just need to bring this thing to an end, which smells a bit of resignation and also a bit of hope that one day (in a future book) he won't go back anymore.
Anyway, I wrote 1507 words today. I had to add a few hundred words to a previous scene, because there was a loose end still open. And then my character decided to flirt with a secretary on his way out, which netted me another three hundred words or so.
I also created a couple of Twitter promo images for my space opera series, which isn't writing but will hopefully help sales a little.

Every story should end on a bit of hope! Good work on the new words and for the twitter promos. Social media stuff counts even if it isn't typing words. My kitty is currently at the vet getting spayed, so I spent yesterday worrying about her.

I hope your kitty feels better, K'Sennia Visitor. Meanwhile, I wrote 1861 words today. Still not quite finished, because I went back and tied up a few loose ends. And I crossed the 50000 word mark, so I'm unambiguously in short novel territory now. I also made myself a prairie oyster (the drink), because my character had one at one point and so I had to look up how to make it. Turns out there are different variations, but I picked one I liked and tried it out for myself. It's more tasty than I would have thought and it gives you an energy boost, probably because of all the protein in the egg. In general, I find that I sometimes wind up making the food that my characters eat for myself.

Great wordcount, prolificwriter . I wrote 2086 words and finished my novel. The final wordcount for the first draft is 52000 words. And since I usually add more words than I cut in subsequent drafts that means that it'll probably gain even more words in the rewrites.

K'Sennia Visitor It helps that I always have multiple projects on the go, so I can switch to another, when I finish one. Though to take a break, I will first finish the Author's Note for the just completed novel and a review I owe to an SFF website before delving into the next fiction project.
I also wrote 1479 words today.

As long as you're happy with your process that's all that matters. I watched a course and a half on puzzle creation, then wrote 3 emails trying to find a puzzle creation software that allows for commercial use. I don't have the skills to create them on my own. So might have to scrap the idea, sadly.
