Have you created any characters that you wish you could be friends with? You wish you could hang out, go on adventures with them, or even date or marry them? Technically, we get to do all that as we write them. They can't do anything on page without us. But do you wish you could chill with them off-page?
The reverse questions: do you have any characters who you'd be absolutely terrified if they ever climbed out of the computer screen and entered our physical universe?
Bonus: story idea for anyone interested!

I think I write lots of likable characters, so there’s probably quite a few who I could be friends with. Of course, I’ve also created several likable scamps and rogues, so having them come to life would probably cause all sorts of havoc and get me into trouble!
I remember a New Twilight Zone episode somewhat like that idea of characters coming to life. These creatures started disrupting this screenwriter’s life. It wasn’t until he wrote about them, in an “NTZ episode,” that they went away.
There’s also the classic Doctor Who episode “The Mind Robber,” set in “The Land of Fiction” and featuring a machine where writing the story affected what was happening to the characters.

Some I could be friends with. Others, NO WAY. Many of my characters are psychopaths and murderers. LOL! And this DOES make a good story idea. In fact I've had an idea in my head about an author's characters coming to life or her getting stuck in one of her books for a long time. Just got so many darn ideas that I haven't gotten to that one yet. Life of a writer.
