I think that stands for "Google it for yourself", one of our old friends posted that to an annoying poster on another board who is always asking simple questions that they could google for themselves, but never do. It made me giggle and want to give them a thumbs up, but that site doesn't have an updoots system. So I am updooting them here, where they will never see it.

I know that we're all busy, and asking people instead of googling can be faster. But the peeps you're asking are busy, too. On other occasions you may want to google and then ask others because the googling only confused you, or it's a situation where having lots of other people's opinions would be helpful.

I am sure we are all guilty sometimes of being lazy, and doing it every once in a while is fine. But when someone is chronically lazy it can be nice to have a poster stand up and refuse to do that other poster's homework for them.

I also like the "let me google that for you" link I've seen, that leads to a google search page. It's snarky, but also helpful.
