Today, I chatted with friends on Facebook, learned about ear stretching and BBS's, watched a true crime documentary about Jean Harris, and had a few vague writing thoughts.

Today, I finally let go of fear and took a plunge into something that I was afraid to do but could end up quite lucrative. Book sales aren't great and I need something to bring in more money. So I've decided to do a project working with another writer to release work under a new pen name. I put a job up on Upwork to find writers for a new venture. Not ashamed to say this new venture is strictly about money. I want to write with someone else in a very popular romance category that I am not familiar with much so I needed another author to help who is familiar with the genre. I've gotten some offers already but will have to go through their samples, etc to see who I want to pick. There is a woman on there I really wanted who has written for Harlequin. Working on books through this venture will allow me to work on my own stuff without the pressure of worrying about sales all the time. I will use the other work as my cushion (hopefully it does well as expected).
So this is new to me and a big leap. I have been following popular authors lately who do different (legit) tactics to grow their income. Book sales in the summer are usually bad for most but for many it's horrible right now due to the virus, etc. I also am thinking of becoming a paid sensitivity reader and maybe selling my services on Fiverr, etc. I didn't realize what a lucrative business that's become and it's interesting. I always help folks out anyway when they want to write about black characters so why not get paid for it?
So I've been revaluating things and taking steps to better myself and to grow my income. It's a little scary because I've never worked with another writer like this and I have never written in this romance cat before. I'm excited though because it's a very popular cat (bully romance) and so I know it will be profitable.
I'm all about writing what you love and that's what I will always do but sometimes you have to embark on other things for money. I need to get my writing income to a higher level and I needed additional help to do that.
So I am excited though this is all new to me.

Hiii writeway!!!! Great to see you. I am excited for you and your new plans. Having a partner writer is really fun, and having books you can publish for money to take off the pressure for your passion project is really a smart way to go about it. I hope you are very successful with your new endeavors!!! And becoming a sensitivity reader is cool, too. Goodness knows it's needed. I would so hire you on retainer for TUOK if I had money. Hopefully, you will get many peeps with money to actually hire you.

Today, I have chatted with friends online, figured out how to roll back the stupid avalanche I launched down onto my TUOKolgy flashdrive, so that I can get back to organizing in a reasonable fashion. I also had a few plot revelations, and figured out what happens to a pretty major character that I'd been uncertain about. It's amazing how helpful friends who will listen to you talk about your story can be. I also discovered that macaroni & cheese jalopeno bites are not chicken and that they taste nasty. (pukey face)

Today, I chatted with friends on Facebook, watched a few crime shows, did some TUOK stuff, photographed a danger noodle, and live chatted with my new credit union, who are very nice.

Today, I slept late and watched our church service online, since I'm at-risk. I've been reading Twilight fanfiction again, thanks to Midnight Sun, and also reading library books. I just checked Radish, and one of my works is doing well. The problem is, it's a novella, so it's going to end soon. Oh, well. I need to write, but I'll see how the day is going. Husband just left to get Arby's for lunch, so that will be nice.

I went to the dentist, scheduled a book promotion, and made a purchase on Amazon.
Yeah, I'm a wild man.
