Alsobot: On amazon it's the part of the page you barely see now that tells you what other customers who bought your book, also bought.
ARC: Advance Reader Copy. When you send copies of your books pre-publication to readers to get reviews.
Beta Reader: Someone who reads your story before you publish and lets you know how they liked it, and if there are any issues that might cause a reader to stumble or put the book down.
BRB: Books Rock, Bro!
D2D: Draft2Digital, a company called an aggragator that you can upload your books to, and then they upload your books to various online bookstores, on your behalf. They take a small cut of royalties for their services.
Dolphin: An innocent author who gets caught up in the great big tuna net amazon casts out when hunting for smelly cat treats (spammers).
Indie: Independent, self-published
KENP: A mysterious algorithm whereby amazon says how many pages are in your KU enrolled book. KENP is different from the page number listed on your book page.
KU: Kindle Unlimited, an amazon program that allows readers to read as many books as they want for $9.99 a month.

OP: Original Post. The first post in a forum thread. Also the first poster. Used when you can't remember the screen name of who started the thread.
Pantsing: Writing by the seat of your pants without an outline.
PNR: Paranormal Romance, romance usually involving a human woman and a supernatural creature, like a werewolf.
Prawn: A newbie author or one who doesn't sell much yet. Prawnisheness is self-identified.
Sci-Fi: Science Fiction
Sensitivity Reader: A beta reader who specifically looks for issues that might offend a minority group or reader. You might want to hire a sensitivity reader if you wrote a book with a blind protagonist, for instance. To make sure you aren't repeating any harmful stereotypes that often wind up in stories with blind characters.
Select: The Kindle Select Program means that as an author you make your book available only on amazon for a period of 90 days. When you do so, each book which is enrolled in Select is also automatically enrolled in KU, where you are paid per page read.
SFF: Science Fiction and Fantasy
Spec Fic: Speculative Ficion. (Basically anything that couldn't happen in the real world, so spec fic can be Sci-fi, fantasy, horror, supernatural, or a mish mash of any of them.)
Stuffer/Stuffing: Someone who stuffs as much content into one volume as possible to try and cheat the KU pages read system. Stuffers may include all of their novels into as many bundles as they available rotations - Book order - A, B, C, D, B, D, D, A, C,D, A, B, etc. Or they may paste in gibberish, badly translated versions of their books, public domain cook books, etc.
