Hi All,
Now when you try to download a copy of the manuscript you uploaded to KDP the thing says, "downloading file currently disabled" or whatever. Which means you can't download the file. Other authors mentioned this so it seems universal. Anyone know why this is? This sucks and I can't see why Amazon would not allow us to download our files anymore.

Someone said they think it's a glitch because it happened before when Amazon was updating the preview section. We'll see.

I just went and tried it for one of my books and I got the message that it was disabled, as well. Weird. If it sticks around we'll know it's intentional and if it eventually goes back to normal then it was just a glitch. Amazon glitches a lot, which is what happens when you routinely hire the cheapest coders you can find.

I hope it's not intentional.

You never know with amazon. If it remains you could always open up a D2D account. They let you download a formatted epub/mobi and pdf version of your book. That's where I always got mine to upload to amazon back when I was wide.

I'm already on D2D because I have to go through them to publish on Apple. I still want the option to download the book from KDP if needed though. I don't see why they'd take this away. Makes no sense so hopefully it's a glitch. I might write them and ask.

Heard back from KDP. It's a technical issue and they are working on it.
