I hope you had a good Thursday last week. I didn't do anything to celebrate, it was just a normal day for me. And I kept forgetting it was a holiday for some people. In other news Happy December 1!!!!!!!! Star Wars Episode 9 starts playing in 20 days. I am completely spoiled for it already because I'm a spoiler junkie, but I'm still excited!
My daily task is working on TUOK still. In six months we are going to be moving back to the mainland and then I'm going to look for a job to help pay for publishing expenses. So that should be fun.
What's new with y'all?

I just realized I haven’t posted in the writing progress thread in a couple months, so I’ll go do that. Otherwise, doing a little reading, which I need to get back to. Listening to all the usual podcasts. I’ve also been watching old episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000 that, for one reason or another, I missed back in the day. I have maybe one or two Season 9 episodes and a few Season 10 ones to get through.

I made a goal to publish TUOK by the time I'm 40, which gives me 3 years to gut through all the clutter, organize everything into an epic series, write and edit it. I don't know how close I'll get to the goal, but I can at least attempt it.
I keep having really great ideas and then getting stuck, and losing the plot. But I'm not giving up and running away to pretend to do something else like I usually do. This is my row and I'm gonna hoe it no longer how long it takes!
I am also reading Star Wars spoilers all day, watching star wars music vids, etc. Today I watched "The Book of Henry." I do not recommend.

Still not writing. I'm feeling a little more interested in getting back to it, though, so I'm going to take that as a positive sign. I'm doing some thinking about what I want to do next year, what genre, new pen name, whatever. No decisions made yet, I'm still in the "Meh, I don't really care." stage.

I am just trying to work things out in my head. Trying to see how far I wish to procrastinate while my brain works out the kinks. I am still the queen of disorganization and despair. Every time I take one tiny step forward, I take three giant steps back. This is the way. But I have a new idea about how I could position and write my series that I think could work quite well. It would allow me a sort of Star Trek/Doctor Who vibe and let me write stories from all over my 12 era timeline. So *crossing everything it sticks*.

When my sales wide pretty much completely died, I had the bright idea of pulling all of my work and putting it in KU. Big mistake for many reasons, one being that I've mainly published short stories. But, I'm dealing with my 90 days and then going back wide. I'm doing my best with what I currently am dealing with, but I'm looking forward to wide again. I've been doing more research into ads that promote all retailers, making changes, etc.
I'm working on my fantasy novel(la) series, doing outlines, working on world-building, etc. No actual writing on my manuscripts because I promised my husband to take a writing break because of the stress of some personal stuff that's been driving me crazy for the past few months. I'm looking forward to getting back into the writing.

I almost made it to my first $100 month a while ago. I was around $5 off, I think, which is the best I've ever done in one month. If I could get over my "writing freeze" and publish a bunch more I might even do better. But I never got a ton of sales. If I'd been getting daily sales then I could see KU not doing as well for me since the penny payments are so much less. But I do get pennies per day, pretty much, and they add up. I guess that's how you can tell if you will do well wide or exclusive. Whatever makes the most money for you is the way to go, for sure!

So I’m just focusing on TUOK. I am hyper-organizing right now. I do that and I read Reddit on breaks. We are maybe moving back to the mainland in 2 or 3 weeks. Out flight has been canceled once giving us an extra week here. Hopefully it gets canceled again. But either way still focusing on TUOK.

I finally finished editing a story for a multiauthor box set and turned that in last week. Now I am doing first edits on my August release. I was going to release this book in May but there was no way I'd get it edited in time having to edit the other story so I pushed it back. Meanwhile, I am plotting two stories I am very excited to write about. What's funny is I struggled with the idea for the first story then finally got my idea where I wanted to go and was plotting easy peasy then I got this other great idea for a story right in the middle of outlining the other so I HAD to start outlining it. I think I will write this second story first but I want to outline them both and have the other ready so I can jump into it. I've never plotted two stories at once. Usually when I have multiple story ides I just jot the ideas down for some and focus on one to plot but I want to do both of these ASAP. It never fails how an idea can pop into your head but that's the beauty of writing. Not sure yet if I will release anything else this year after the August book. I might but the holidays will be coming up not long after August and I don't wanna be caught in the Christmas book traffic. LOL! But, we'll see.
So, I'm rolling along. It's getting harder for me to stick to a schedule because I have ongoing back and knee issues and lately I've been very sore. I also take two different beta blockers, one for anxiety and they make me sleepy and slows me down a bit so it can be a challenge at times to get the muster to write. Seems like the older I get, the harder it is and I'm not even "old". LOL! I'm only in my early 40s but sometimes I feel like I'm 90. LOL! Anyway, I'm pumped about these new stories!
Wishing everyone well with their projects!

Wishing everyone well with their projects! Great job on the story you finished. I hope your two simultaneous projects are going well. I'm almost 40 (37) so I know what you mean about getting older and how your body starts betraying you. I had a headache all night, and still have it, today. And my foot has been doing this weird thing when I move it the wrong way. We are flying back to the mainland for our big move tomorrow evening at 9, so I am all packed up except for my computer. Not looking forward to the three flights ahead with two cats and a mask. But we'll get through it. TUOK isn't going well. I am in my stuck/confused/can't parse it/don't know what to do phase. It will eventually pass, but it's annoying anyway. I am trying to decide right now whether I want it to be all humans or whether there should be humans and aliens. I came up with all these fun alien races, but I'm not sure I want to take up space with aliens that could go to human characters. So I'm processing, I guess.

I just realized I needed to change my email since I deleted the email that I used for my proboards account. I went through and deleted 23 gmail accounts to try and feel less overwhelmed. And then I made a new one for TUOK.

Just completed second edit of my August release. Had to rewrite the ending. It just wasn't exciting enough of an ending so I am VERY pleased now. Now I will do final editing and put it up for preorder.

I am back after a long month away. What's new with me? Well, let's see. I live in Idaho now instead of Hawaii, in a creaky little camp trailer, and my cat keeps me up all night as he meows to come in, meows to go out, meows to go inside the house, meows for fresh water, tortures my boobs as he desperately tries to find a way to fit his tubby girth underneath my chin, or just meows cos he's bored. Also I now have a checking account and a debit card for the first time in seven-ish years, which feels both terrifying and powerful. I don't have a ton of capitol to work with, most will prolly go to a new computer, but still it feels good to have options. Also, after my bank made me choose a profession when setting up my account, and I chose bookseller cos it was the closest thing, I ended up impulsively re-publishing 45 of my 47 books. I have made $9.55 since doing so. WOOT, WOOT. I really, really, really need to publish something new but I am just running around on my hamster wheel of anxious terror, right now. I really wish I had a partner for TUOK. I think that's the only way it will ever happen. Also a very late Congrats writeway for completing your edits!!!
