I hope everyone is having a wonderful winter season, and if you celebrate Christmas or any other holiday in the next few days, I hope you have a brilliant time!!!!!
I am going to spend my time editing and trying to make a cover, and write a blurb, create a website, etc. All fun ways to celebrate, methinks.

Happy holidays to everybody, whichever one you celebrate (or not). In Germany, Christmas Eve is the main event, so I'm with my parents. I had some nice food, unwrapped presents and dutifully admired the tree (which I decorated the day before). I also have my laptop, so I can write and use the internet, when my parents have gone to bed.
Meanwhile, enjoy this photo of our Christmas tree, fully lit:

Merry Christmas Eve! Love your tree. It's so well decorated!!!!!!
Did you get any good presents? I know it's the thought that counts. But getting something cool is always fun.

Glad you like the tree. A lot of the ornaments are heirlooms, some more than 50 years old.
As for presents, I got books, which is always good, and a geeky comic book t-shirt.

Family heirlooms are fun. Hurraaaays for books!!!!!!
I got this really nice cushioned pad for my computer to rest on, and lots of popcorn.
I am very glad the holidays are over now though. Unless New Years counts as a holiday. I don't count it, although it is pretty big around here. Everyone does tons of fireworks.

New Year's Eve is a big deal with lots of fireworks here as well, plus the shops are closed again. From the ten days between December 23 and January 1, the shops have been completely closed for five days (Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and two Sundays) and only open for a limited time on two further days (Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve), which makes grocery shopping difficult.
Still, the traditional holiday herring salad is almost gone and soon things will be back to normal again.

Wow, most things were closed on xmas day, but that's all. I would really hate holidays if everything closed up for that long around here. I suppose it's nice for the workers, as long as they can take the paycheck hit.
