Indie Author Times is a brand new News Site for Indie Authors, but it also allows authors to connect with readers. It's run by Eric Rogers, my good friend, and he's working on making it a great benefit. He's even starting a book review contest to help all of us get more reviews. Whoever posts the most reviews each month gets a fifty dollar cash prize, and the next three get a smaller prize. If he can get Readers to sign up, it ought to be helpful. It's at indieauthortimes.com, and he offers a lot for only $2.99 a month. You can post as much as you want, post blogs, share tips and suggestions and all kinds of stuff. I was the first to sign up, and some of the other authors I know are already there as well.

This guy wants me to pay him for the privilege of posting on his site? Yeah, um, think I'll pass, for now. I can post all my book info on Goodreads for free, a site where book readers actually go. And a contest where people can win money to spam post reviews is Rebecca Hamilton-level shit.
Stay AWAY from this site, Peeps.

I'm blown away by this response. I've been involved in similar sites in the past, and found them quite helpful. The idea is to gather a lot of Indie content into one place, so that everyone benefits from the exposure. Yes, you can post on Goodreads; I do myself. However, Goodreads is owned by Amazon, and I've had a lot of my posts deleted there. I didn't think IAT was all that bad, but I'll talk to Eric and see what he thinks about all of this.

I think you have a problem with credibility. Your IAT post reads like a spam, and it's asking for quite a lot of money. In another thread, you recommended Bookady, only mentioning your own involvement as one of the founders when you were asked. WenyNews said you were the owner as well as one of those involved with the idea. You spread your initial posts across three threads, two of which recommended promotion services. I couldn't find any sign or those promotion services on much bigger forums like kboards or writersanctum. The books that list you as author were claimed by a ghostwriter (even if the claim has since been deleted). Even if he is your husband, you can't both have written the books and there has been no suggestion of joint authorship. You have 15 books listed on Amazon:- - 1 published April 2016
- 3 published July 2018
- 11 published September 2018
None of it gives the impression of an indie writer typing madly away to publish a book every few months. There may be perfectly good explanations for this (I don't exclude the possibility), but the combination isn't shouting credible, honest and genuine. In a microworld full of scammers and con artists, writers need to be suspicious.

Maybe you didn't look around, but there are tons of forums where indie authors gather and share information, and none of them charge any money. This is one of them. So, why does this site you're so keen on charge to put up content?
Say what you will about Goodreads, but it's an active forum with loads of readers, and those of us who follow the rules have no issue posting there, putting up info about our books, or anything else we do. The point is, we follow the rules. I've never had a single post deleted, or had any issues with GR, and I've been a member for years.
