There's a thread on Kboards about a long delay when authors order their review copies so they can check the book out before publishing, or to just see and hold their book, even if after publishing it. Anarchist suggested that perhaps amazon was being deliberately slow on shipping out author copies but that real customer orders would go out lickety-split. Or at least faster than the author copies.
So I thought I'd ask for some customer data to see if that was true. I haven't purchased a print book in over a year and that book never arrived, lost $40 bucks on it. *sniffles* But that was from Alibris, not amazon. So I'm no help.
What about you?

I haven't purchased any indie print books at Amazon for at least six months now. These days, I mostly buy print books via Thalia, because they offer regular coupons. At Amazon, I only buy POD print books, because Thalia doesn't carry those. However, I'll probably be buying some POD books for the holidays later this month or early the next, so i can get back to you then.

Please do. I had to look up Thalia books and was much impressed.

Thalia is Germany's biggest bookstore chain. If you distribute your e-books to tolino, they're automatically in the Thalia online store.

Not sure if I've ever sold anything through them. I rarely look at my D2D statements. It's cool to think I could have books on sale in German online spaces though.
