I wasn't sure if peeps felt comfortable promoting their books on here or not. But if you would like to do so, I could create another subboard in the promotions/safe services board for indie author promotion. You could have your own threads, as many as you wanted without restriction or limits on how often you could post. No worries, either way. I think if you do link to your books proboards might viglink them, so you would prolly want to leave off the https part, and let people copy/paste the link themselves.

Yeah, I don't know... After the kboards fiasco, I'm sort of once-bitten, twice shy, you know?
Even if you allow it--which doesn't really matter to me; I'm cool with whatever you decide--I'll probably hold off on it, at least for now.

Went ahead and made it because I like making boards. It's fun!

Well, it's your forum, so do what you like, but I'd rather not have it. Maybe people could do a link like a signature, but only to their author site?
To be honest, I never checked the Bazaar at kboards, even though I put up one or two books early on. That place was more for people with Kindles who were readers, with the WC an afterthought (to keep writers from discussing their stuff where the Kindle peeps had to wade through it).

The best thing about having it is that no one has to use it! But if someone did want it they won't feel a lack. Lack is the worst. It's so much better to refuse and reject things that exist than to want something that doesn't. This board is all about personal choice. But you can't choose if there aren't any options. Someone could go in there and obsessively post apple sauce recipes. If no one else ever goes in there they'd never even know, so it could become the apple sauce enthusiast's inner sanctum. A glorious secret hidden from the world. And of course one of those apple sauce recipes would contain the serum for eternal youth and eternal brain health. Because it would be terrible to have the body of a 22-year-old, but a brain of mush. Apple Sauce will save the world!

PS: I never visited the book bazaar, either, and peeps are still welcome to link to anything they want in their sigs. PPS: But if having it bothers people more than not having it I could always delete it, too. Deleting things can also be fun.

Just a little anecdote:
For the past few weeks--before the dumpster fire, I mean--I got in the habit of checking the number of views of my book threads in the Book Bazaar at kboards. I wanted to get an idea about how often people were looking, if at all. The average was probably around three or four views per thread per day. I made both threads about a year ago, and each one had around 2000 views at the end.

No worries, everyone. It has been deleted and will not darken our doorstep again. Thanks for the feedback! I can post my kitten pics and applesauce recipes elsewhere.
