Do you write stories which deal with supernatural creatures and humans fighting and hunting and falling in love? Then this is the thread for you! Drop on in here to tell us about the stories you're writing, ask plot/trop questions, get advice, or chat about your favorite and least favorite books in the genre.
Which are your favorite kind of vampire - sparkly or scary? Do you prefer your supernatural with a major focus on romance or do you prefer the gritty power fighting? Does your world include a glamour or have the supes come out of the closet? If the witches and vampires are so powerful why do they fear humans? Shouldn't it be the other way around? If you could be any type of werecreature which would you be? What are your thoughts on Supernatural the TV Series? Best show ever or does it make it want you to vomit out your eyeballs and feed them to your pet hellhound? Sound off and let your voice be heard!

I write urban fantasy and I used to read a lot of it too, which brings me to...
I can’t stand paranormal romance! I have nothing against other people reading and writing it, but as a reader trying to find good urban fantasy novels, it pissed me off to no end when I’d buy a novel that was advertised as urban fantasy but ended up being a paranormal romance! If most of your plot is about the romance and your book is full of sex scenes, you are not writing urban fantasy!! /rant
As for Supernatural, my favorite seasons are 2-4, 1, and 7 (yes! Dick Roman for the win!). I did not care for the beloved season 5. It’s when the show started to decline in quality for me. Season 8 is probably my least favorite. Could not stand the soap opera romance subplots in that one. The last few seasons have good and bad things about them, but they’re mostly entertaining still. I love Billie and Rowena!

I approve of this rant.
Remember in The Princess Bride when Fred Savage gave Peter Falk a long-suffering look and asked, "Is this a kissing book?" That's basically me.
I have no hard feelings towards those who like that stuff, of course. I'm just not one of them.
