I rearranged my bedroom today because my cat keeps pissing on my bed, right where I sleep, and I'm tired of waking up to wet spots. I'm hoping that if I turn my bed the other way around and put the top of the blanket where she usually wees at the other end she'll piss there and not on me. *crossing everything this works* but not too hard cos cats are the true masterminds of the world. As I was doing this it made me wonder about characters rearranging their rooms, and I remembered that some writers create house plans for their characters so that they know where everything is and can set the scenes better. And I wondered if anyone here did that? I guess you could use something like this, too. It already lists a bunch of house plans, so you could just choose the ones you like best, if you're not at drawing. www.houseplans.com/

I've made quick sketches of where things are in a house/apartment, but I don't get too detailed about it. Stuff like that seems to make me stop writing. Outlines, too many notes, getting too much into doing layouts, goals and deadlines freeze me up. But, I'm weird.

If it were my cat, I'd keep the door closed to keep the cat out. I love my pets, but enough is enough. I won't reward bad behavior by letting it continue. But that's me, I'm a cranky old woman.
I do outlines or quick sketches as well, because I find it easier to keep track of where my people go if I have a visual. But yeah, I can get too carried away with research if I let myself, too.

Why is your cat peeing on your bed? That’s what litter boxes are for!

Why is your cat peeing on your bed? That’s what litter boxes are for! I don't know. She poos in her box, but she won't pee in it. Some cats don't like to do both in the same place. She's a feral rescue, and she spent the first few weeks shut up in my room with me. I think maybe her wild mama taught her to pee right near her, so she did that right near me, and now she's just used to it. But she's going outside as soon as she's fixed (in Oct), so we're hoping she'll start going out there.

If you can't keep her out of your room, then I would suggest 2 litter boxes in there with you. Hopefully, she will be intrigued by the 2nd. Also, my vet recommended a calming spray for my supposedly stressed out cat. I'd spray that in her litter box(es), so that she'll supposedly be relaxed when she's in there, and even more importantly, so that she'll actually WANT to be in there. My husband got ours at PetSmart.

She might stop once she's fixed. My cat peed on everything before she was fixed, then she didn't do it anymore. Apparently some girl cats mark territory like boy cats.
