I got the emails as well, but so far the option to migrate isn't on my dashboard yet. I'm fortunate in that I only have 2 titles on CS, so it should be relatively painless, or at least as painless as it can be for an Amazon thing.

I guess you could give KDP a shot and then pull them and go with IS if necessary.

I'm not happy about it, was hoping it would hold off until next year, but hell. I'm still working on the POD formatting for my stuff, so I hadn't even managed to get anything up on CS. So, screw it. I'm not interested in dealing with Ingram or anyone else right now, except maybe doing print on Drive Thru Fiction. You can do hardbacks there, too.

I've heard the name Drive Thru Fiction, but I didn't know you could do print books with them. It's nice to know there is another option. D2D does paperbacks, as well, but I haven't tried them yet. And there is Nook Press, which would make your books available in any Barnes & Nobles that still exist. And then Baker & Taylor. Plus, there are old-school POD shops where you have to buy huge batches and then store and ship them yourself. Not sure why anyone would want to do that, but the option is there if anyone did.

I’ve been putting off moving my books so I’m glad Amazon did it for me! It took maybe five minutes for nine books.
I don’t really understand what the big deal is. People are acting like the sky is falling! KDP Print is pretty much the same as CreateSpace now, so I don’t really understand the drama. And it’s nice to have print and ebook reports in one place.

From what I've heard from others, there are circumstances where it might be cheaper to print in such places, and sometimes quicker. I know I read about it somewhere, but danged if I can remember where. In most cases, it would be better to go with CS (oh, sorrow), so it would be something to check out.
The big deal about CS going away is quality, dependability and an active, intelligent customer service just a phone call away. For many, KDP Print is still buggy, still sending out bad books, and you have to use the regular channels to get any help. But, it's all moot now, so we either go with it, or switch to IS.
